Playing dates: 23rd November to 1st December 2012

A hilarious farce…

When Henry Perkins returns with the wrong briefcase containing £735,000, he sets in motion a frantic chase to leave the country (as he realizes that the money is probably ‘ill gotten gains’ and won’t be reported lost). He involves his wife Jean and their two friends Vic and Betty, two policemen investigating separate cases, a bemused taxi driver and a Dutch passerby.

Characters
  • Henry Perkins – An insignificant man in his early 50’s.
  • Jean Perkins – A pretty but ordinary woman in her late 40’s.
  • Vic Johnson – A brash man with feet of clay.
  • Betty Johnson – A buxom and cheerful woman in her late 40’s.
  • Davenport (Policeman) – A sparse middle aged man and a bent copper.
  • Slater (Policeman) – A straight copper who is solicitous and kindly – until provoked.
  • Bill (Taxi driver) – A middle aged London taxi driver of spirit
  • A Passerby - The smallest part (only in one scene). Speaks one word of English in a foreign accent.

The action of the play – which is continuous – takes place on a winter’s evening in the Fulham house of Henry and Jean Perkins. All the parts are fun to act. The leading parts are Henry, Jean, Betty and Vic.
