School Groups & Parties Visiting the Barn Theatre

We are keen to attract school parties to the Barn Theatre, and price our tickets accordingly: school groups pay only £5.00 per seat, instead of the standard £9.75, and in addition we offer one free teacher's seat with every ten seats sold.

We also offer workshops about the plays we perform, normally organised to coincide with pupils' attendance at a performance, although other arrangements are also possible. They are given by qualified and experienced Drama or English teachers, and individually tailored to the requirements of the school concerned. Risk Assessment Guidelines

Teachers who wish to make block bookings for Barn Theatre productions are invited to download the Barn Theatre School Guidance Notes and partially completed outside visit forms from this page. They greatly simplify the process of risk assessment which all community schools are now required to follow when organising such visits. The forms are those used by schools in Hertfordshire, but the information included in them, and in the guidelines, is obviously transferable to the forms used by other local authorities.
