Archives - Blood Brothers
by Willy RussellDirected by Joan GoodwinThursday 18th – Saturday 27th March 2010 in the Auditorium“So, did you ever hear the tale of the Johnston twins… how one was kept and one given away?” This is the original Willy Russell play. Fast-moving and perceptive, entertaining and thought-provoking, funny yet ultimately tragic, it tells the tale of twin brothers who are born into a large working-class family and what happens when their mother decides to have one of them adopted. Blood Brothers looks at the differences and conflicts of their upbringings, their relationships with each other and with their real and adoptive mothers. Preview Night: Charity PerformanceThursday 18th March at 8pm The preview night of Blood Brothers will be a charity performance in aid of DASH. Tickets at the usual prices will be available from Campus West box office and the Barn. DASH (Diabetic Association of South Herts) is a subsidiary of DUK and is a local support group for children and young people with Type 1 diabetes, and for their families. One of the cast of Blood Brothers is also a member of DASH, and through this Registered Charity she is endeavouring to raise money to provide diabetes monitoring equipment for the QEII and Lister Hospitals.
