A View from the Bridge

Famous modern American classic of love, belonging and betrayal, widely studied in schools.

Eddie Carbone is an Italian American longshoreman living in Brooklyn with his wife Beatrice and orphaned 17-year-old niece Catherine, with whom he is obsessed. When Beatrice’s two cousins, seeking a better life, enter the country illegally, Catherine falls in love with one of them and Eddie’s jealousy erupts as rage consumes him, his family and his world.


Tickets are on sale now for just £10.

School groups pay only £5 per seat. Teachers interested in booking seats should contact our Education Coordinators Cindy Lawford and Elliot Brown Contact education team to find out about available workshops and talks on the play.

Free-of-charge pre- and post-show talks:

  • Tuesday 29th at 7.30pm in the Clubroom
    Director Jack Wood defends the leftwing Miller against charges of anti-Americanism.
  • Wednesday 30th at 7.30pm in the Clubroom
    Dr. Cindy Lawford looks at the 1950s Brooklyn docks and Miller and Kazan’s falling out.
  • Thursday 31st after the performance
    Cast members stay on stage to answer audience questions.
