Daytime Play Reading Group

13th November 2013 at 10:00:00

The first play reading of a new group… I wondered just who might turn up and thought it would be a nice way to meet new people and have fun as well… And it was! There were seven of us – no men, but perhaps they will come later! We got to know each other through our connection to drama and the Barn, then we read an Agatha Christie play – Go Back to Murder. We were each given a character – I became a man – and we all got into the spirit of the play. There was a coffee and biscuit stop for chat after the first Act, then on to the unveiling of the murderer. None of us had guessed whodunnit.

It’s a great way to meet new people and feel involved with a play, especially if you don’t want to learn lines any more but love reading out loud and acting.

Come and join us. Reading helps with projection, diction and confidence. You might find you would really like to be on the Barn stage instead of in the Green Room. Or you might be a recycled teenager like me – still lured by the footlights, still enjoying being part of a team and making new friends. A big thank you to Yvana and Pat for starting this once a month activity.
