The smell of the grease paint and the horror of war.
Oh What a Lovely War is a satirical play using the songs, poems and writings related to the First World War. It contrasts the horror of the trenches with the arrogant indifference of the officers. Since its premiere in 1963, it has won numerous awards and has influenced a generation of artists and playwrights.
