Daytime Play Reading Group

12th August 2015 at 09:30:00

A morning read through a play from scratch

This is a regular monthly opportunity for any member to come along and have an unrehearsed read through a play.

This month’s plays

We will be reading two One Act plays:

  • Mr Sampson – This is the play chosen to be performed as a rehearsed play reading at the the memorial event for Charles Purdom in September. Purdom, one of the founding fathers of Welwyn Garden City, entered it into festivals in London and New York, which the play went on to win. We will be looking for two women and a man to read the piece at the event.
  • Bed by Jim Cartwright – he wrote Little Voice and Two, the latter so greatly enjoyed recently in our Studio theatre.
Timings

Arrive at 9.30am for a 9.45am start. The reading will run until around 12.15pm with a break for coffee, biscuits and chat.

Booking

No need to book, and admission is free of charge.
