As a taster, here is what happened last month…
The Barn’s Bar Club Room was packed out on Sunday 2nd December, as Singers at the Barn ended the year with an evening full of new and old Christmas songs and carols.
What an evening, our youngest singer Brook Davies sang Walking in the Air from The Snowman and then he took us Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree. Juliet Arthur sang a beautiful version of Auld Lang Syne by Mairi Campbell, two new penned songs from Ed Coan, The magic of Christmas and Deep in December.
Susan Read plucked at everyone’s heart strings with The little boy that Santa Claus forgot and Eric Williams had everyone laughing as he taught and conducted the audience to sing Christmas time. We then had a Blue Christmas from John Lynch, Sleigh Ride from Brenda Lawrence, and It’s only a winter’s tale from Bob Worsley. Winter Wonderland, Are my ears on straight, Nuttin’ for Christmas, Sparkle and Shine from Nativity, were amongst the many other songs which entertained our audience.
To complete the evening, we were so pleased to introduce 12 beautiful voices from Welwyn Harmony, who are part of a female Barbershop group. They ended each half with a collection of songs, White Christmas, Christmas Chopsticks, Jingle Bell Rock and a medley of Silent Night and It came upon a midnight clear. They were such a hit with all concerned.
The evening air was full of banter, laughter, singing by performers and audience, heralding the start of the Christmas season at the Barn.
