Hi, my name is Ian Major and I am proud to be the Chairman of the Barn Theatre Club.
We exist for all those people, young and old, interested in the Theatre, both on and off stage. Many of our members simply enjoy the social aspects for the Theatre. In addition to offering acting roles in plays, or opportunities to get involved back stage with creative teams, the Club has other activities including special Club nights and social events, plus use of the Club Room Bar most evenings. A monthly newsletter keeps members informed of forthcoming events.

How to find us
Our Postal Address is:
Barn Close, Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire AL8 6ST
CAR
There is some parking available at the theatre along with 2 blue badge holder spaces directly by our front entrance. Many patrons will need to park on the roads near to us. Unfortunately this can cause us some issues with our neighbours and inconsiderate parking, although not necessarily ‘illegal’, often causes great inconvenience to local residents who have to use complicated manoeuvres getting on and off their own driveways. This understandably fosters considerable and unnecessary ill-feeling between us and our neighbours and we ask our visitors to help us by refraining from parking anywhere in Meadow Green (directly opposite us), and finding alternative parking nearby. Unfortunately, parking wardens regularly patrol the areas and do ticket poor parking, but there are plenty of spaces within just a short few minutes walk so please don’t worry.
If you have passengers who are less nimble, please feel free to drop them off at the front of the theatre and then park safely elsewhere.
Motorway: The nearest motorway route is via the A1 (M), Junction 5.
Head for WGC Town Centre & Wheathampstead on the A6129. At the first roundabout head for WGC Town Centre. Once you have passed Stanborough Lakes on the left AND right, take the first left turn into Lemsford Lane, then the second right into Handside Lane.
We are approximately half a mile down Handside Lane on the right.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Bus: Buses stop right outside the Barn
No. 300 (Sundays No. 405).
The No. 366 also stops 5 minutes walk away on Valley Road.
Train: Welwyn Garden City Station is just 2/3 mile away; approximately 10-15 minute walk and taxis are also available. There are very regular services from London Kings Cross, Peterborough and Cambridge.
