FROM THE BARN THEATRE ARCHIVE

A Taste of Honey

by Shelagh Delaney
Directed by Joan Goodwin
7th – 14th February 1976

‘You need somebody to love you while you are looking for someone to love.’

The story of a courageous, sensitive, outspoken, untidy schoolgirl, deserted by her flighty Mum when most in need of help and sympathy. A work of outstanding and exhilarating originality, it broke new ground when first produced by Joan Littlewood at the Theatre Royal, Stratford in 1958. It raised a few eyebrows!
