The Guardsman

By Ferenc Molnar
Directed by Stanley Meyrick
12th – 19th April 1980

A marital comedy set in 1910. Nandor, a famous actor, suspecting his wife Ilona of infidelity, disguises himself as a Guards Officer to present himself as her lover. Is his stratagem successful? Or does Ilona see through the disguise and play him along?

A bitter-sweet, amusing, cynical play with an under-current of uneasy truth.
