Jazz at the Barn: Grace Sheene Trio

17th April 2026 at 8pm

The best of Hertfordshire's jazz scene and beyond, in an intimate setting.

Jazz at the Barn is where the smooth, soulful, and swinging sounds of live jazz come alive in the heart of Welwyn Garden City. Each event brings together exceptional musicians – from acclaimed local talent to special guests from further afield – to create evenings filled with energy, artistry, and atmosphere.

On Friday 17th April, local musician Matt Ward welcomes guests to hear an evening of timeless jazz classics from one of the country’s most exciting young  vocalists, Grace Sheene.

Grace Sheene is an American vocalist and songwriter based in London, UK. Her velvety, powerful voice – steeped in the rich history of the Great American Songbook – and radiant stage presence enchant audiences with a soulfulness that feels at once timeless and new.

An established performer at many of London’s leading live music venues – from Crazy Coqs and The Ned, to Brown’s Hotel, Aperivino, and Brumus–Haymarket – Sheene is making her mark on London’s vibrant jazz scene. Accompanied by some of the finest musicians in the UK, she breathes new life into classic repertoire with authenticity, warmth, and style. Grace can also be seen touring across the UK with the critically-acclaimed Down for the Count Swing Orchestra.

Performing at this event:

  • Grace Sheene – vocals
  • Mike Horner – piano
  • Guy Dempsey – double bass
