The scene is Berlin, in that threatening, hectic and decadent period preceding the Second World War. The play takes place on the stage of the Kit Kat Club and in various settings associated with the leading characters. A fine musical, based on John Van Druten’s play, I am a Camera, and the short stories of the period by Christopher Isherwood.
