FROM THE BARN THEATRE ARCHIVE

The Anniversary

By Bill MacIlwraith
Directed by John Hyde
5th – 12th April 1975

This modern play can only be described as a grey comedy with a touch of farce.

Set in South London, the central character is dear old Mum, a woman whose possessiveness is a killer. The play depicts the events of her wedding anniversary (regardless of deceased Dad) with her unwilling family brought together for the celebration; but revolt is in the air!
