FROM THE BARN THEATRE ARCHIVE

Shakers

by John Godber and Jane Thornton
Directed by Ray Newton
26th November – 3rd December 1988

Every town has its trendy cocktail bar where everyone wants to be seen: the yuppies, the chinless wonders, the local lads and the check-out girls. Rushed off their feet, underpaid and overworked, we are given a wickedly funny glimpse of this world by the long-suffering waitresses who work there.

A fascinating and often explicitly hilarious view of the reality which lurks behind the plastic palms and the piña coladas. Not for the faint-hearted or children!
