Our Country’s Good

Australia, 1787. In a penal colony the convicts find relief from their harsh and brutal lives by rehearsing The Recruiting Officer. Highly theatrical, often funny and sometimes dark and disturbing, a play that says the theatre is important, a boon to civilisation.
