Eddie Carbone is an Italian American longshoreman living in Brooklyn with his wife Beatrice and orphaned 17-year-old niece Catherine, with whom he is obsessed. When Beatrice’s two cousins, seeking a better life, enter the country illegally, Catherine falls in love with one of them and Eddie’s jealousy erupts as rage consumes him, his family and his world.
