At the edge of the known world, rebellion is brewing.
Roman Britain, AD 61. Boudica, Queen of the Iceni, is exiled for trying to claim her rightful title. Furious, she raises an army to fight the Romans but with the odds against them, failure means annihilation. Victory follows victory – but success brings responsibilities and issues of human rights that will resonate with contemporary audiences. At what point do the heroes themselves become the oppressors?
Tristan Bernays shows Boudica not as a nationalist icon, but as a strong, complex woman seeking justice, a mother passionately protecting her children. With its mix of high drama, adrenalin-fuelled action and broad humour echoing Shakespeare and Game of Thrones, Boudica promises audiences a powerful theatrical experience.
