The 39 Steps

By Patrick Barlow
Directed by Cliff Francis
Choreographer Vikki Myddelton
17th – 26th October 2019

Spies, blonde and a guy go north by northwest

The play has one instance of smoking, smoke effects, flashing lights (NOT strobe), loud bangs and scenes intended to cause laughter! (more information here)

A fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves theatre! Packed with non-stop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a cast of four), an onstage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers, and some romance! A man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she’s murdered. Soon, a mysterious organisation called The 39 Steps is hot on his trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale. A riotous blend of virtuoso performances and wildly inventive stagecraft, The 39 Steps amounts to an unforgettable evening of pure pleasure.
