Shakespeare’s Dream with 100% more zombies!
THIS IS A WORLD PREMIERE!
Midsummer Night’s Scream is a spooky, laugh-out-loud reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic, reinvented as a family-friendly horror-comedy for the modern age.
The story begins at a cheerful summer camp, where four emotionally confused teens sneak into the woods for some secret late-night drama. Unfortunately for them, the forest is home to a strange 1970s-inspired vampire cult—ethereal, theatrical, and addicted to human emotions. As the sun sets, the woods shift into a surreal gothic rave-world, and the teens become unwilling guests at a nightmarish party.
Meanwhile, three hopeless amateur filmmakers arrive to shoot their very serious horror movie. But vampire magic quickly turns their plans into chaos—transforming one of their actors into a braying zombie donkey and dragging the rest into a world of magical mischief, mistaken identities, and absurd emotional transformations.
Featuring big theatrical masks, glowing forest visuals, jump scares, zombie romance, and plenty of slapstick, Midsummer Night’s Scream blends creepy atmosphere with anarchic comedy. Told in modern language with the occasional weird ritual song, it’s Shakespeare like you’ve never seen it before—fast, funny, and just scary enough to make you scream… and then laugh.
Written and directed by Adam Long and Allen Plenderleith, Midsummer Night’s Scream is Shakespeare with a twist – a wild, weird, and totally unforgettable Halloween comedy for kids aged 9 and up.

Midsummer Night's Scream
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a classic story with the theme of identity at its core, particularly in terms of gender identities and how dramatically teenagers are affected. The story begins with what seems like stereotypical gender roles, but in the forest these identities are deconstructed and reconstructed, and find an uneasy resolution when the young lovers discover a way of being with one another that challenges their preconceptions. Our adaptation of the story will be performed by a mixed-ensemble cast, and we welcome actors of all ages, ethnicities and genders to create a re-imagining of Mr Shakespeare’s classic story.
