About the Barn Theatre Youth Groups
Barn Senior Youth Theatre (14 - 21 years)
The Barn Theatre aims to provide an opportunity for those aged between 15 and 21 to have some theatre training and gain some experience. Members are expected to attend a weekly drama workshop/training session on Wednesdays from 8 pm to 10 pm. This involves improvisation, play readings, characterization and group work. In addition, the group may be preparing a major stage presentation or Welwyn Garden City Youth Drama Festival.
For the more able and experienced, there may also be an opportunity to work on the season’s main theatre productions. Any young person interested in working hard at stage performances or backstage theatre work will always be most welcome.

Barn Junior Youth Theatre (11 - 14 years)
This is for those aged from 11 to 14, and the group meets on Monday evenings from 6.30 - 8 pm. The aim is for the youngsters to learn stage technique including voice production and the skills needed to perform various styles called for by different types of plays. The group normally enters for the Welwyn Garden City Youth Drama Festival.
