Jazz at the Barn’s third gig of the season, hosted by local musician Matt Ward, invites rising star trombonist Felix Fardell and his jazz quartet!
Felix is a freelance trombonist and singer based in London. Having gained a First Class degree in Music at the University of Oxford, he won a scholarship to study on the postgraduate jazz course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Equally at home in classical and jazz settings on the trombone, he is also a bass in the choir of St Luke’s Chelsea having previously held choral scholarships at St Peter’s College and Merton College, Oxford. Felix can now frequently be found performing alongside trombonist and compositional great, Callum Au, and his newly formed ‘TrombaFonics’, a collection of four of the UK’s top singing trombone players.
Felix’s recent appearances have included Pizza Express Dean Street, Ronnie Scott’s, Boisdale’s music restaurants, the Barbican Centre, and BBC Maida Vale Studios.
