Orpheus Descending

By Tennessee Williams
Directed by Mervyn Lloyd
Assistant Director Roger Chown
19th – 26th October 1974

A modern equivalent of the old Greek Legend of Orpheus who descends to earth and charms the beasts with his lyre. Set in a small town in the Southern States the plot is tender, funny, violent, tragic and fantastic by turns.

One of Tennessee Williams’ lesser-known plays and certainly one of his most poetic.
