FROM THE BARN THEATRE ARCHIVE

The Admirable Crichton

By J M Barrie
Directed by Beth Maxwell
3rd – 10th November 1984

This Barrie classic, first performed in 1902, introduces us to an almost normal aristocratic English household. The archetypal “Upstairs Downstairs” situation is examined with sparkling comedy and penetrating irony, as the social structure cracks under the strain of shipwreck and isolation on a desert island.
