This adaptation by Brian J. Burton captures the essential wit and romance of one of the world’s great novels. Jane Austen’s own inimitable dialogue is preserved together with her perceptive comment on the society of her time. In its original (now lost) version, entitled First Impressions, the books was begun two centuries ago this year.
