FROM THE BARN THEATRE ARCHIVE

Educating Rita

By Willy Russell
Directed by Julia Bridgeman
19th – 27th September 2003

Frank, in his fifties, is a tutor of English in a university in the north of England. His disillusioned outlook on life has driven him to seek refuge in bottles of whisky which hide on his bookshelves! Rita is a forthright, twenty-six year old hairdresser who is hungry to find some meaning to life and “know everything”. With Frank as her tutor, Rita embarks on an Open University course and her education begins!
