A talk for all ICI retirees and anyone interested in ICI or just curious to hear about a previous bellwether of the UK economy.

Jim Park, retired Chief Executive of ICI Films, has kindly agreed to give a talk about his experiences with ICI. He joined ICI in 1954 and had 29 years with different parts of the company, based in London, Teeside, Australia and, finally, Welwyn Garden City.

In the 1960s ICI employed 4,000 in WGC so there must still be many who remember that great company!

Admission is £5 with all proceeds going to two charities:

• Jim Park’s choice: The John Clements Sports and Community Centre in Codicote. John Clements, a teacher of Sherrardswood School, died while saving 35 children in a hotel fire in Italy.
• Our Studio Project to expand the space for Youth Groups and rehearsals.
