Our “Get Involved” workshops aims to provide a broad and exciting range of skills for those who would like to start drama as well as providing exciting challenges for those who have some experience already. The key aspects are confidence building, stage skills, improvisation and (easy) script work. All of these pull together to provide an enjoyable and relaxed end-of-week short performance. We are very happy to have a previous Barn Youth Theatre member to run this workshop who has been working for the past year in professional theatre.
Rosie Thomas has been studying theatre for 5 years and started at the Barn Theatre. After directing plays at Freman College in Buntingford, she now leads after school clubs in 9 primary schools and runs a youth theatre with ‘Stage-Fright’ theatre company, based in Wokingham, Berkshire. Stage-fright work specifically with young people and uses theatre, scripts and devised work to explore questions, issues and ideals. She also works part time for a movement theatre company in London, working in partnership with the Tricycle theatre, the Soho theatre and the Hampstead theatre.
Courses are open to all, members and non-members, but numbers are limited so book now.
The course runs from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd August (5 days) and is split into two age groups:
