This is a beautiful film and two of the reviews at the time described it as ‘a visually stunning fairytale’ and ‘a powerful and disturbing film – brilliantly conceived’. It is a Spanish film (with sub-titles) directed by Guillermo del Toro, who creates a unique, richly imagined epic which is a gothic fairy tale set against the post-war era of Franco’s Spain.
Admission is free to members of the Barn.
