Probably the best stage ghost story ever!

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd.

At a little-used and remote railway station in the middle of a dark, cold and windy Dartmoor, six people are stranded for the night – the result of the actions of one of their number, a clownish oaf.

The stationmaster advises them to leave and tells them of the ‘ghost train’ that haunts the station and is expected this very night. They’re not safe if they stay. With no taxis and the nearest hotel five miles away, they have little option but to spend the night in the station’s gloomy booking hall, and take their chances with the ghostly train.

Later a strange hysterical woman arrives, closely followed by her brother and her psychiatrist. They also warn them of the dangers and beg them to leave.

Set in the 1920s, the play is full of comedy and suspense, strange noises, ghostly apparitions and the impending appearance of the ghost train itself. An ensemble piece with most, but not all, characters on stage throughout.

It’s almost 100 years old and will still frighten the audience, as they share the evening with our trapped travellers
